Defend Our Great and Wise Predecessors of Taiwan, Be an Angel of Taiwan!

Our faith, the Taiwanese Taoism, is a pro-localization movement that arises in the modern day Taiwan. It’s about, in the more distant ages, the Taiwanese heroes who, over the past 400 years, are willing to stand up against violence; and, in more modern times, are the well-known (by everyone) great Bodhisattvas of the February 28^th Movement as well as the Great Predecessors who courageously fought the unjust and corrupt Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) during the Taiwanese White Terror.

The Taiwanese who are capable of fighting and resisting have unfortunately either been sacrificed or seriously injured. The current remnants of Taiwanese are too timid to resist, not to mention heavily infected by the Stockholm syndrome.

Pro-localization groups and the “One Side, One Country” political group plan to hold two meetings to explain why they have launched a signature drive asking that former president Chen Shui-bian (陳水扁) be pardoned, Taiwan Hakka Society chairman Chang Yeh-shen (張葉森) said yesterday.

The petition asks President Ma Ying-jeou (馬英九) to exercise his presidential prerogative to pardon Chen, who is in Taipei Prison serving a 17-and-a-half year jail sentence for embezzlement.
