Japanese donation of vaccines arrives

A shipment of 1.24 million doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine from Japan yesterday arrived in Taiwan, with the flight reportedly accompanied by a US military aircraft, while Washington announced its plan to share vaccine doses with allies, including Taiwan.

COVID-19: Taiwan adds 321 new virus cases

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) yesterday reported 321 new local COVID-19 infections and two deaths, while an additional 400 cases that had been delayed in reporting have been added to the daily confirmed cases reported from Sunday last week to Friday.

Nationalists raised Japanese flags on an island at the heart of a corrosive territorial row with China yesterday, in a move likely to further inflame tensions with Beijing.
