First local vaccine batches ready: FDA

The inspection of the first four batches of the domestic COVID-19 vaccine has been completed and the doses are ready to be rolled out, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said yesterday.

The US House of Representatives on Wednesday passed a foreign assistance spending bill with an amendment forbidding that funds be used to create, procure or display maps depicting Taiwan as part of the People’s Republic of China.

Representatives of former president Chen Shui-bian (陳水扁) said it was “too early” to begin assessing his historical legacy, as government officials said they were unsure how to proceed with an official account of his presidency.
