COVID-19: US sending 2.5 million Moderna shots

The US was yesterday to ship 2.5 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to Taiwan, a senior US administration official told Reuters, more than tripling Washington’s previous allocation of shots for the nation.

The COVID-19 situation appears to be relatively stable and on a downward trend, Minister of Health and Welfare Chen Shih-chung (陳時中) said yesterday, as he reported 185 domestic COVID-19 cases and 15 deaths.

Greater Taichung Mayor Jason Hu (胡志強) apologized for the Sunday morning fire that killed nine people and injured 12.

Investigators have uncovered evidence showing multiple inconsistencies with the fire safety checks.
