Museum honors freedom advocate based in Japan

A museum dedicated to independence activist Ong Iok-tek (王育德) yesterday opened at his former residence in Tainan, where he lived with his elder brother Ong Iok-lim (王育霖).

The Local Council Alliance for A-bian’s Amnesty yesterday said that 85 percent of its members have signed a petition in favor of former president Chen Shui-bian’s (陳水扁) pardon.

“A-bian” is Chen’s nickname.
