Virus Outbreak: Five more imported cases confirmed

Five imported cases of COVID-19, four from the Philippines and one from Hong Kong, were reported yesterday, bringing the total confirmed cases in Taiwan to 467, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) said yesterday.

The military is looking into countermeasures against the possible use of a “drone swarm” as part of a Chinese “decapitation strike” against Taiwan, a military official said on Saturday.

Former president Chen Shui-bian last night began to make a statement at the end of his trial on money laundering and corruption charges at the Taipei District Court.

As of press time, Chen was still addressing the court.

After asking whether there was a time limit, the former president began to speak for the first time in weeks, almost entirely in Hoklo.
