NPP urges abolishing Red Cross law

The Legislative Yuan should consider abolishing the Red Cross Society Act of the Republic of China (中華民國紅十字會法) to clarify the Taiwan Red Cross’ relationship with the government, New Power Party (NPP) Legislator Hsu Yung-ming (徐永明) said yesterday.

The Ministry of National Defense is keeping abreast of developments amid reports the Chinese military has deployed an advanced surface-to-air missile system to Woody Island (Yongxing Island, 永興島) in the South China Sea, spokesman Major General David Lo (羅紹和) said yesterday.
