DPP’s candidates have more support than shown: Yao

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Legislator Pasuya Yao (姚文智) on Saturday said his support ratings, like those of several other DPP candidates, should be at least 15 percent higher than recent polls show.

The Council of Grand Justices on Friday dismissed a request by the Control Yuan for a constitutional interpretation of the legality of the Act Governing the Handling of Ill-gotten Properties by Political Parties and Their Affiliate Organizations (政黨及其附隨組織不當取得財產處理條例).

National Taiwan University student Hung Chung-yen (洪崇晏) was arrested and handcuffed by police yesterday after he showed up for a protest in front of Zhongzheng First Precinct in Taipei.

Hung was taken to the Taipei City Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and in the evening was sent to the Taipei District Prosecutors’ Office for further investigation.
