Write to President A-Bian

Pray for Peace(Activity initiated at 2009.07.16)

Dear friends,

Former President Chen Shui-Bian's detention again extended by Tsai Shou-Xun. And, Chen's family also suffered a variety of unfair treatment. It becomes a genocide style of political persecution.

Despite of Chen Shui-bian promised that he will come out strongly. But, living in such a tiny cell without sunshine, even a healthy body can be easily deteriorated as time goes by. Alhough we can not help A-bian to bear his physical pain, But, we still can express our concern for A-Bian.

Following the last activity of "Write to President A-Bian", our organization, Taiwan Tati Cultural and Educational Foundation, plans to lunch the second wave of the movement. We encourage everyone to show your support and write a letter to former President Chen Shui-bian.

Each of letters is very important. Express your care for A-Bian!
Act now!

Sincerely yours.

Newsflash

Former president Chen Shui-bian’s application for a passport was “old news” and Taiwan’s judicial system would be proven unjust if it abused its power and extended his detention by raking up old news as new evidence, Chen’s office said yesterday.

On Wednesday, former Presidential Office secretary Chen Hsin-yi testified in court that Chen Shui-bian had told her to file an application for a passport for him “most urgently” soon after he stepped down last July. Chen Hsin-yi added that then-first lady Wu Shu-jen told her to pay for the application fees for passports for the then-first family using the “state affairs fund.”
