Four disrupt AIT official’s speech at Uighur forum

Four alleged unification supporters yesterday disrupted a forum organized by the Taiwan East Turkestan Association in Taipei, shouting: “US Marines get out of Taiwan” and “Fucking USA” as an official representing the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) was about to take the podium.

Dolkun Isa, president of the Germany-based World Uyghur Congress, also attended the “Reveal the Truth: Uighur Tribunal” forum at the National 228 Memorial Museum in Taipei.

US promises ‘action’ in China scenario

The US “will take every action” in diplomacy and deterrence to prevent the forcible unification of Taiwan by China in concurrence with a hypothetical Russian invasion of Ukraine, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said on Tuesday.

Sullivan made the comment at a White House news conference following a teleconference between US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier that day over the military standoff between Russia and Ukraine.
